B: Leading Ladies.. B is for beauty

Today we move on to the letter B! B is for beauty. As women made in God's own image we are the earthly representation of God's splendor and beauty . We should enjoy the fact that we are women, and God has made each one of us unique and beautiful! The Bible even tells us that we are the crowning glory of man.

1 Cor.11: 10-12Don't, by the way, read too much into the differences here between men and women. Neither man nor woman can go it alone or claim priority. Man was created first, as a beautiful shining reflection of God—that is true. But the head on a woman's body clearly outshines in beauty the head of her "head," her husband. The first woman came from man, true—but ever since then, every man comes from a woman! And since virtually everything comes from God anyway, let's quit going through these "who's first" routines.
13-16Don't you agree there is something naturally powerful in the symbolism—a woman, her beautiful hair reminiscent of angels, praying in adoration; a man, his head bared in reverence, praying in submission? I hope you're not going to be argumentative about this. All God's churches see it this way; I don't want you standing out as an exception. ( The Message Bible)

Have you ever watched a little girl who is enthralled with the fact she is feminine? The other day at church I watched little Lacey in her brand new dress. It was full of battenburg lace, ribbons and bows and delightfully feminine! She couldn't help but twirl a bit, and was caught admiring herself in the reflection of the glass doors in the foyer. In that moment I was almost breathless as I saw her sunkissed skin, her beautiful big eyes and gorgeous wavy hair. She was delightful! Lacey has a secret that many of us have forgotten--she still enjoys the fact that God made her uniquely 100% girl and that is a good thing. She is free from the arrows that the world so quickly throws at women, to crush their joy in the beauty God has given them. From early peer pressure, parental disapproval or negative media influence we all to quickly see our flaws and our fall from " grace" as women. If you aren't enjoying your femininity, ask God to renew a love for the creative work He has done in you. You are God's marvellous work of art and a masterpiece of individuality. Stop comparing yourself to others and only compare yourself to Him and ask Him what He thinks of you. Enjoy who you are and who God has made you to be.

Psalms 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to [
b] me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you. ( NIV)

I'll post more on this topic later as I expand my thoughts! I love you, and remember you are beautiful!

The ABC's of being a Leading Lady: Attitude

I've been thinking alot lately and have felt really impressed to start working through a strong impression I heard during my devotional time the last 2 weeks. The ABC's of BEing a Leading Lady..

So today we'll start with the letter A...
Attitude

Attitude is the means to achieve or destroy any dream you may have.

from websters

at·ti·tude ( P ) Pronunciation Key (t-td, -tyd)n.
A position of the body or manner of carrying oneself: stood in a graceful attitude. See Synonyms at posture.
A state of mind or a feeling; disposition: had a positive attitude about work.
An arrogant or hostile state of mind or disposition.

The orientation of an aircraft's axes relative to a reference line or plane, such as the horizon.
The orientation of a spacecraft relative to its direction of motion.

A position similar to an arabesque in which a ballet dancer stands on one leg with the other raised either in front or in back and bent at the knee.

Attitude as defined above is quiet interesting in that it shows a launching ability, or a determing factor in our sucess. Attitude is proactive, moving towards something. We must control our attitude and disposition to be successful leaders as women of God. Your attitude stems from 2 areas : the mind and the heart. The best way to defeat a bad attitude is to demand that your emotions (heart, and soul) come under subjection to God's authority and lineup with His Word. You do that by filling your mind with God's word and renew your thought life to reflect a God attitude.

Proverbs 4:20 My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body.
23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

The building block of success as women goes right back to attitude! Just no way around it. I encourage you to take 10 minutes today alone and examine your attitude. Is something bothering you? Do you have a bad attitude towards someone or thing? Do you need to ask God to help you forgive this person, then forgive them and move forward to bless them. Check out what is in your heart, and guard it carefully. If it is full of stress, strife and contention you need to deal with it before it begins to affect your attitude, your prayer life and your friends, family and the vision God has for your life.

Ways to renew your attitude:
1. Make time to be alone with God
2. Be sure you are getting adequate rest
3. Focus on positive progress even if it is the smallest accomplishment
4.Examine the way you talk to see if you are being negative, then correct it
5. Ask God to help you keep a godly attitude and to be a servant.
